Previously of the Immortal Flames 2nd Brigade (Corporal), Jonathan is a retired veteran turned part time detective, through accidentally on purpose discovering mysteries to solve because he wants to help people. Not a man of many words, he often leaves out details about himself and his past and lets people make up their own ideas of who he is. Due to his dry wit, he will encourage their behaviour and the many nicknames he's been given.
He can be found frequenting bars and other establishments with his notebook, people watching and writing down his observations while drinking whiskey.
There are two things he doesn't like to talk about, his ex-wife and his brother.Age: 41

While Jonathan will work with criminals, he tends to not want to break the law heavily. He will ICly request low or no combat, but OOC I enjoy it (and welcome it as a surprise for him). Payment will always be IC, I will never ask for actual gil.}

Backstory

^{The information presented below is not common knowledge and can only be found out during roleplay with Jonathan. He may not divulge such information to everyone.}Jonathan Alan Pierce was born in Ul'dah, eldest child and older brother to Jack Edward Pierce. Both boys enlisted for the Immortal Flames, rising through ranks and both proving to be combatively and mentally capable. Jonathan was a field worker, a military assassin and served in the Battle of Carteneau. Jack worked within intel, working behind the scenes to assist Jonathan in his work.During Carteneau, Jonathan's communications with Jack became disrupted and he was unable to contact his brother. Jonathan was injured during Carteneau, so much that he was unable to continue military service and thus retired from a young age. Upon returning from the war, he discovered his younger brother was dead. Medics declared Jack had committed suicide, but Jonathan demanded to see the crime scene. He determined his brother had been murdered as the shot to his brother's head was on the right, however Jack was left handed. Jonathan decided to become a part time detective once he had recovered from his injuries in order to discover what happened to his brother and potentially avenge his death.Prior to this, Jonathan had been happily married to Erika. During his conscription to Carteneau, it was discovered that Erika cheated on him, and brought a bitter end to their marriage where she extorted money and their family home from him. Erika has made it known that she felt unloved as Jonathan spent a lot of time working away and believed he had died during Carteneau and felt 'free' to move on and therefore cheat on him openly.Jonathan now spends his time gathering what intel he can, while stumbling upon mysteries he helps solve to help others. His brother's death weighs on his mind often, and recently his ex-wife has been showing her face in places he visits, much to his dismay.
